I love my coffee. It is a necessity quite frankly. I just can’t seem to function without it. I’m hardly a connoisseur though. I don’t really know the difference between Colombian, Arabica, or Brazilian beans, French, city, or Italian roasts. That’s just way too many decisions to make first thing in the morning. I DO know that I need a nice strong cup of coffee that practically slaps me in the face to get me moving in the morning.
I received the City Roast Colombian Supremo from Coffee Bean Direct and honestly found it confusing in the morning – not a hard feat admittedly. It had a nice rich aroma, not only when I first opened the bag but also when I brewed it. But the end results after brewing looked even weaker than the tea that my teenager makes – and she likes her tea WEAK. The flavor was a bit stronger than it appeared it would be, but there was no comparison to the aroma. I’m still perplexed on how the coffee had such a strong aroma yet a weak flavor. I will say that the following morning I added an extra scoop of grounds and did attain a nice strong pot of coffee. Again, the roast details that are over my head probably has more to do with my overall slight dissatisfaction than actual issues with bean quality.
