Monday Musing-Busy As Ever

I figured it was high time for a post. Although I admitted recently I am burned out, I do not want to let the blog die and will continue to post, although not as rigorously. The funny thing is in all of this, I found the inspiration to start another blog that is very detailed on my personal finance journey. I love the community and best of all, this new blog is no pressure and very personal. It will not generate an income whatsoever and I am good with that. If you are interested, you can find my new blog at http://nhgirl1970.savingadvice.com.

I am busy as ever with all my “side hustles” (Love this term the personal finance blogging community uses). Regular side hustles are up to six and of course there are always a couple extras that pop up from time to time. [Read more...]

Monday Musing-Happy 603 New Hampshire

I already wrote about this on Bubblews, but wanted to say it here as well. Happy 603 to all my fellow Granite Staters. Live Free or Die!

Monday Musing-Productivity

Getting in shape has helped with my overall motivation but with so many jobs to keep track of it seems impossible to keep track of my productivity. Also, I forget something every day. Most of the time it is something small like forgetting my vitamins, but still I hate that feeling of not knowing what I missed. I also need to remember to make time for myself. My good friend and sister site owner of A Goddess of Literature has similar issues. Thus, she created a spreadsheet for us. I realized just how busy we really are when the sheet ended up with 70 daily line items (for each of us). Sadly, we seem to keep thinking of items to add to it. [Read more...]

Monday Musing-Getting Healthier

I wrote a few days ago about joining the gym. Now all I need to do is to keep up the motivation. I prefer walking, but it gets difficult on super hot or rainy days, plus once winter comes I won’t do it. Rather than going on some fad diet and saying I am going to lose x amount of pounds. I am simply trying to get in better overall shape. I am tired of feeling tired all the time. So, the gym will be anywhere from 1-3 times a week starting with fifteen minutes and increasing up to 30 minutes. Here are my overall goals for getting healthier:

1. Walk or gym a total of 6 days a week (walking will likely be 4 days). As I said, gym will increase and end up at 30 minutes and walks are 30 minutes as well.

2. Go to bed at 10 and get up at 6:00. [Read more...]

Monday Musing-20 Pieces of Advice for My Younger Self Part II

As I said last week, one post about 20 pieces of advice for my younger self would be too much. So, without further ado, here is part II:

11.  Trust your instincts. Too many times you look for the best when someone shows their worst. Stop and think about it. You will save yourself from more than one bad relationship.

12. Never stop learning. Be willing to learn new skills throughout your life. Each new skill opens up doors.

13. Don’t let yourself go. Take care of your body.

14. Quit caring so much of what others think about you. If they don’t appreciate you for who you are they aren’t worth your time.

15. Spend more time with your kids. They grow up fast. You will regret missing out. [Read more...]
