Thrifty Thursday-Save Money with All Natural Acne Treatments

Save Money with All Natural Acne Treatments
The constant struggles and costs that come with having acne can be overwhelming. Many store-bought cleansers have harsh ingredients in them, which can cause your face to react by producing more oil. When that oil gets into your pores, it causes pimples. Because most food lacks the harsh ingredients, they tend to work better. Below is a list of all natural ingredients that can be found in your kitchen.

Lemon Juice – The acid from the lemons dries out excess oil, which can clog pores. Take a cotton ball and a freshly cut lemon and squeeze the juice onto the cotton ball and gently rub onto the problem areas. You can leave it on overnight and wash it off in the morning or leave it on for 15 minutes and wash it off. It is best do this at night because exposure to sun with the lemon can be harmful.

Honey - Honey contains healthy acids that help shed dead skin, minimize lines, and balance out oily skin. Slather honey onto your face, leave it on for 5 minutes, and rinse off.

Tomato – Tomatoes are high in antioxidants and works as a natural astringent. Cut a piece of tomato and dab the juices onto the affected area with a cotton swab.

Bookworm Wednesday- States of Mind: New England

Jacqueline T. Lynch opens the book with an introduction stating that she means to not just give a brief historical tour of New England states but to also show the New England state of mind, so to speak. New England, like no other geographical area in the U.S., portrays the quaint air where if you closed your eyes you could almost envision that you have traveled back to colonial times. Lynch brings to light details about people, businesses, and ideals that were important not only to the area but to history as well.

The author is obviously very passionate about the history of the area she lives in and has devoted many hours to researching the subjects within this book. She not only focuses on the positive influences such as Louisa May Alcott, Mark Twain, the mills in Lowell, MA and Chicopee, MA which gave jobs to thousands of women, Daniel Webster, Milton Bradley, Annie Sullivan (Helen Keller’s teacher), Harriet Beecher Stowe and the Civilian Conservation Corps which provided young men with jobs during the depression but also the darker side of history John Wilkes Booth, Lizzie Borden, the hurricane of 1938 and the Circus fire of 1944 both of which were tragedies that claimed hundreds of lives. Borrowing Money-Is it Always a Bad Idea?

I read a lot of financial blogs, listen to every financial podcast I can find, and read articles and books on personal finance. I am certainly no expert, but I truly love learning about how to handle finances. With so many varying opinions, sometimes it is tough for me to decide as a consumer whether borrowing money is something to steer away from, or it can be helpful if one knows how to handle their finances. For example, a 0% auto loan can be a great deal, should it be passed up simply because it is “wrong” to borrow money? I personally think it is fine in cases like this to take out the loan if you have the income to support the payments. Why shell out 15 grand you may have saved for a car if you can get an interest free loan? You can invest that money and make more in the meantime. Just be sure and make your payments on time.

I do firmly believe those with bad credit should never borrow money. The best solution in this case is to build up an emergency fund as quickly as possible. In the end boils down to doing what works best for you and your personal financial situation. Borrowing money is not always a bad idea, but be sure you read the terms of the loan and have a plan to pay it off as soon as possible.
