| Second Strike by Ron P. Whittington |
The months following 9/11 were the most harrowing times for American citizens. The entire country mourned together much as they did following the assassination of John F. Kennedy. This novel gives a what-if scenario of a second strike perpetrated by terrorists close on the heels of the massacre at the World Trade Center. One grief stricken man attempts to make a difference by becoming a thorn in the side of a terrorist that fate had led him to. Can one man thwart an entire terrorist cell?
Parker Glynn lost his wife, daughter, and self respect when the towers fell. His apparent goal in life was to drink heavily in an attempt to numb his pain. When he wakes up one morning after passing out on a remote beach in Florida, he sees something that will change more than just his outlook on life.
This story is fast paced and well thought out. The intricate plot that the terrorists are planning is quite terrifying in its simplicity and how easily it could be carried out. The tale is riveting, action packed, and suspenseful. This book is definitely an entertaining read that hits close to home.
