Bookworm Wednesday-Doppleganged

Doppleganged
by Ron P. Whittington

Parker Glynn returns in this second novel produced by Whittington. It is hard to say for sure if this book would make sense without having read the first one. Some mention is made to previous situations without full explanations, but they aren’t really relevant to the current story. Also, if you hadn’t read the first book you wouldn’t find yourself shaking your head wondering if Glynn would ever learn as he repeats the same mistake he had made previously.

The plot this time around is more diabolical but not quite as realistically possible as in his first book Second Strike. Who knows though, maybe someone has already discovered the technology portrayed in this story. I sure hope not. The story is action packed, fast moving and enjoyably suspenseful. I found it an entertaining story, well worth the day it took to read it.

Emergency Financial Loans in the UK

For those living in the UK who are in need of an emergency loan, White Loans can offer you a loan instantly. We all know having an emergency fund is the idea choice when something goes wrong, but if have not had the time to build up your fund, a payday loan is an option.

A payday loan can offer a short term cash advance to help you take care of an emergency medical issue or car repair. The loans are fast, easy, and often can be done online with no human interaction. They are based on employment and not credit, making the loans accessible to those with a poor credit rating. A payday loan may not be ideal, but it is a better option than a bank account overdraft which will spiral into even bigger financial problems.

The important thing is to have a plan going forward. Understand the interest rate is high and have a plan to repay the loan as fast as possible. Not only will paying the loan off quickly keep you from further financial issues, it will help rebuild your credit.

Before applying for a payday loan keep in mind you should meet the general guidelines for approval:

-You must be 18 or older

-You must be employed (usually full-time is required)

-Length of employment is often considered

-Own a bank account

-Minimum earnings required

-A guarantor (Someone you can name to be responsible for the loan if you fail to repay it.)

If you are in the UK and in need of an emergency loan, www.whiteloans.co.uk is ready to loan you up to £1,000 in as little as ten minutes. There are no hidden fees, no phone calls, and they are open 24/7 all year round. Best of all, your transaction will be private and confidential.

Test It Tuesday-Bertolli Frozen Meals

I was given the opportunity to try Bertolli frozen meals. Over the last couple of months we have tried a few different Bertolli meals. Our absolute favorite is the Bertolli Meal Soup Ricotta and Lobster Ravioli in a Seafood Bisque. I buy it every week. It couldn’t be any better if I ordered it in an expensive seafood restaurant. It says it feeds two, but we always have enough leftover for lunch the next day. If you love seafood, I strongly recommend giving this one a try. Trust me, you will be hooked!

We also tried the Mediterranean style Steak, Rigatoni & Portabello Mushroom meal. Although we liked it overall, the steak wasn’t bad, it wasn’t my favorite. I also thought it could have used more meat. If I were to buy this again, I would add a few of my own ingredients.

Last but not least, we also tried Classic Italian Sausage and Rigatoni. This is my second favorite but it could use a little more sausage, thought it is flavorful.

Overall, I was glad I tried each of these Bertolli frozen meal products. In the end, the only one I have purchased regularly is the Bertolli Meal Soup Ricotta and Lobster Ravioli in a Seafood Bisque. They were all good, but my opinion is most of them need a little TLC to get them to taste as if they were homemade. That being said, I don’t think anyone would be disappointed giving these meals a try. Find the one you like the best and I am sure you find it on your shopping list on a regular basis.

On a side note, Bertolli gave me coupons to share with my readers. I have been sharing these in the monthly coupon giveaway I participate in. I have one more which will be included in the November (2012) Lucky Coupon Club giveaway which will begin on or near November 1st so be sure and enter!

Test It Tuesday-Kushyfoot

My feet have always had issues and they get sore very easily. Kushyfoot sent me foot covers to try out. I don’t wear heels on a regular basis, but I put them in my flat shoes and I did notice a difference. My shoes are comfortable, but these seem to make them even better. My daughter is on her feet all day for her job, so I figured she would probably get better use out of them than me so I sent them her way. However, if I were on my feet a lot or wore heels on a regular basis, I would definitely recommend these cushions.

I also received Flats To Go! by Kushyfoot. These come in a handy little plastic bag that you can slip in a handbag. They are not made to wear and walk in, they are an emergency pair of shoes. If you have heels on and they break or are on the dance floor and have aching feet, these would be great in a pinch. I have them in my purse in case of a shoe emergency.

Kushyfoot’s products would make a great gift (think stocking stuffer) for any woman who is on their feet often. Give them a try!

Monday Musing-Frankenstorm

I am writing this on Sunday anticipating a possible loss of power for a day or two. Right now, my two cents on “Frankenstorm” is it is a bit overrated. Don’t get me wrong, I think it will cause some damage (especially in and around New Jersey), but I also think the media enjoys hyping it up for ratings. I went out on Friday morning and bought a package of extra batteries, a case of bottled water, and paper plates and cups (stinky dishes that sit are the worst), but that is pretty much the extent of my preparation.

My husband and I were discussing whether or not it is a good idea for the media to go on and on about the storm. Yes, we need to be warned, be prepared, and take it seriously. However, is the constant coverage causing some people to overreact?

As much as I will hate being without power. It is probably a good time to get back to the basics. When is the last time your family played a board game? An electronics free day or two might be good for all of us. A few supplies, a deck of cards, and a board game or two may actually turn into making great memories of when we all experienced “Frankenstorm”. Stay safe!
