Monday Musing-Keeping Up With a Schedule

I am terrible at keeping up with a schedule. I would like to convince myself I am good at it, but the fact is my work schedule is always changing. Therefore, I find it difficult to have a set schedule for all of the “jobs” I have to do. Luckily, I manage to get it all done, it just doesn’t always go according to plan. The biggest problem with all of this, is the lack of sleep. It drives me crazy when something doesn’t get completed and it keeps me up. Yes, it is crazy, but a fact.

Basically, what I try to do is housework, emails, freelancing and blog work up until noon Monday through Thursday. After that I tutor until 6 (make that 7 quite soon), then I come home and eat (thanks to my hubby being the cook), and catch up on what I missed during the afternoon. Sometimes, I get home a little later if I have a mystery shop to complete.

Fridays are for mystery shopping and the accompanying reports. Trust me, five or six shops is a full day of work (along with taking a couple of hours to do blog stuff and emails). Saturdays it is back to tutoring for the morning, usually at least one mystery shop, and an hour or two of blog/freelancing. After that, I get the rest of the day “off”. Sundays, I try to take most of the day off with the exception of a little bit of blogging/freelancing (I try to keep it to two hours but it doesn’t always work) and an hour or so of record keeping/setting up mystery shopping.

For some reason or another the schedule never goes exactly as planned. Keeping up with a schedule is harder work sometimes than the work itself! One of these days I am going to schedule a day of sleep! How do you manage your schedule?
