Monday Musing-Fall in New England

I love fall! Fall in New England is the best! I absolutely loathed it for the four years I lived in Florida. Heat, humidity,no leaves turning, and orange trees instead of apple trees made it very depressing! I like the crisp air (cool enough to wear a sweater but not having to put on heavy winter coats and boots), the smell of apples (my town is full of apple orchards) and watching the leaves turn puts a smile on my face no matter what kind of day I am having. I truly missed fall (and so much more) living in the south.

We take fall seriously here. Long drives to see the fall colors (first to the north and then to the southern part of the New England states), picking apples, going to pumpkin patches, apple cider and fresh donuts, who wouldn’t love it?

I grew up in Michigan and yes I got the crisp air and the leaves turning, but it is even better here in New England. If you have never been to New England in the fall, you are certainly missing out on one of the most gorgeous sites in America. If you have time to visit this fall, I highly recommend it. The leaves will be turning soon and I will be sure and do a Staycation Sunday post with some pictures.
