In a previous Savings Saturday post I discussed saving your change. I was cleaning my car and getting it ready for vacation next week. It made me think of another great way to gather up change to add to a savings account. I haven’t counted it yet, but I would estimate I found around $5 in change in my car. I did spring cleaning a month or so ago so I know I don’t have any change around my home. However, I am betting many people do! Check jackets, pants pockets, under couches and chairs (and their cushions) and I bet you will find a dollar or two (or more!). Go through your home and car (s) every other month and take what you find and add it to your savings account.
I would also be willing to bet the kids (especially teens) would find at least a few bucks in change if they clean their room. It always seems to motivate mine when he is broke!
After checking pockets, cushions, cars, etc, I would love to hear how much you found!

We keep a water bottle in the kitchen next to where we empty our pockets and all loose change goes in there. We wait until we want to do something not normally in the budget and then cash it in. It is usually more than enough to cover what ever we want to do.
Great idea Jennifer:)
