The third and final part in the plural noun series will cover f’s an v‘s and whether to add s or es and what may need to change.
If the noun end in f or fe, change the f to a v and add s or es.
half becomes halves
self becomes selves
knife becomes knives
leaf becomes leaves
The exceptions are roof and dwarf.
roof becomes roofs
dwarf becomes dwarfs
Finally, I believe the last item to cover are Greek and Latin roots. Many (definitely not all) plural nouns will keep their original Greek or Latin form and often add an i.
syllabus becomes syllabi
fungus becomes fungi
cactus becomes cacti
