What a week! I finally finished up the school year on Thursday (maybe those snow days weren’t such a great thing after all). Now we are prepping for camping this coming week. I will have my smart phone with me and therefore will have very limited (if any) access to the blogging world. I will be back sometime on Friday and will respond to comments here and emails at that time.
I have come to realize I am very unorganized lately both at home and on the blog. My goal upon my return is to come up with some sort of regular schedule for both. I will let you know how that is going next week (I need to keep myself accountable).
The Planet Marshmallow giveaway is open through 7pm EST on Friday. These are not your everyday marshmallows. They come in some unique flavors (I tried two of them) and are very tasty!

Hosting Reviews-Giveaways

I am overall a shy person until I know someone well. My fear is I come across as snobby (which I am not at all, I am just nervous when I first meet people in person). The funny thing is, when it comes to blogging I have become bold and have tried things I would never have thought I would.
My biggest leap is when it comes to reviews/giveaways. A friend and I created a letter “Why collaborate with a Blogger?”. I began sending a copy of the letter out to companies I thought I might want to work with. The majority never answered, but about 10% did. The letter was kept short, but did offer an insight to what bloggers do to advertise and rates were included.
I love to promote companies I believe in. I truly believe in order to “fix” our economy, we need to support the state we live in. I made it a mission to promote New Hampshire companies (of course, I do other giveaways too!). I have done this not only with the letter, I have attended expos, listed myself as a blogger on NH.com, and I watch New Hampshire Chronicle ( a local news show which talks about places and businesses in the state). I have contacted companies directly after watching them on the show. I have had great success with this! Many are small business just getting started and look forward to being promoted through the world of blogging.
Finally, another way I find my giveaways is directly through companies emailing me. Many companies simply send an informational email about their product. I will email them back (unless it is obvious spam) and ask them if they would like to do a review/giveaway. The company almost always says yes.
I hope these tips were helpful to my fellow bloggers. If you are a company, I would love to promote you (as long as you are family friendly)!
Planet Marshmallow Review-Giveaway

Planet Marshmallow is a gourmet marshmallow company based in Milford, NH. Kristi Buttler and Heather Cox are the founders of this unique business. The marshmallows come in many yummy flavors including All Natural Vanilla, Chai Spice, Mint Chocolate Chip, Toasted Coconut, Chocolate Chipotle, Cookies n’ Cream, S’mores, Peanut Butter Swirl, Chocolate Peanut Butter Bash, and Strawberry Lemonade. Many of the flavors can also be purchased in a Grab-and- Go S’mores Kit.
The ladies spent a week together driving a friend across the country and quickly realized they could work together. After they made marshmallows for gift giving, they started making batches with different flavors. They knew the marshmallows were a winner when family and friends started eating them as fast as they could make them. See their feature on New Hampshire Chronicle here.
I was lucky enough to be able to try out the Strawberry Lemonade and Peanut Butter Swirl marshmallows. I admit I was a bit skeptical on marshmallows and strawberry lemonade going hand in hand. Let me tell you, they were awesome! Of course, the Peanut Butter Swirl marshmallows were great too. I am going camping next week and am looking forward to trying them toasted as well.
If you are looking for a unique treat, I highly recommend trying out these gourmet marshmallows. You won’t be disappointed. They are very reasonably priced and you can order them online.
